This is an exceptional piece of structural glass art. Designed for the minimalist or postmodern collector, it features a unique geometric configuration. A solid rectangular glass pedestal base holds a large glass hoop. Suspended perfectly in the center of the hoop is a heavy, crescent-shaped glass reservoir.
The defining characteristic of this piece is its substantial aquamarine/jade green tint, characteristic of tick gauge structural glass, which is vividly displayed in the thick base and along all polished edges.
Display Suggestions:
While functional as a vase, this piece stands alone as a striking piece of architectural decor. Its geometric symmetry makes it perfect for displaying in natural light on a mantle or console table. When used functionally, it is ideal for simple, sculptural stem arrangements (as pictured), highlighting the negative space within the ring.
Condition:
The glass is exceptionally thick and structurally sound. This is a vintage/pre-owned item showing very minor, acceptable signs of age and prior display. There is some minor scaling/residue inside the inner chamber which adds to its antique charm but could likely be cleaned further if desired. There is minor wear consistent with age on the back of the base like shelve scratches. There are no major chips or cracks.
